Rapido Trains is a manufacturer of beautiful model trains and accessories in ‘OO’, ‘HO’ and ‘N’ (North American 1:160 and British 1:148) gauges. Established in Canada nearly two decades ago, Rapido has now launched a UK branch (or branch line? Get it?) to develop a range of exciting and innovative British outline models.
Rapido is no stranger to the UK market, having produced the classic GNR ‘Stirling Single’, APT-E and LNER Dynamometer Car for the likes of Locomotionmodels, Model Rail magazine, Rails of Sheffield, RealTrack Models and Revolution Trains. Â
Why is the business named Rapido? Well, The RAPIDO brand was introduced by Canadian National Railway in 1965 for its high-speed intercity passenger services. RAPIDO came to stand for fast schedules, frequent trains, and superb service.
